Marc has been told by his parents he had starting skiing in the late 50's before he had a choice. He believes it was even before chair lifts were present at most ski areas and that ground lifts like J-bars, T-bars, rope tows and Poma Lifts were the “in” thing to ride. He started skiing, or was then just gliding, at the age of 3 and by the time he graduated college, Marc was logging in about 200 days a year on snow. He thinks that decade was called “The Endless Winter.” He graduated from the University of Wyoming, where he skied and trained on snow year-round. With Marc’s passion for the sport and the outdoor lifestyle, he went on to become a full certified Professional Ski Instructor of America, then an Assistant Ski School Director, a level 3 coach in the US Ski Coaches Association, and then a Development Team Coach for both ski racing and freestyle in VT. Marc also skied the US Pro Ski Racing Tour and became a sponsored athlete. In the early 80’s, he accepted a sales representative position in New England from one of his then sponsors. For the next 20 years he sold, marketed, and promoted ski products to every major ski area and ski shop in New England. He created a sports sales agency and with time received continuous company awards for outstanding achievements, growth and excellence. Marc met his wife in VT, and as you might guess, she was born and raised a true Vermonter. They have a second home in VT across from the base of Sugarbush Ski Resort. As pass holders, they still try to achieve 40 to 50 days a season on snow. Marc now “mixes it up” on snow between Alpine, Nordic, Telemark Skiing and snowboarding, and sometimes goes through all of them in the same weekend. Even though he has left the industry, stopped competing at a professional level, and changed professions, he is still widely recognized as an Ambassador for the sport.
